Description

The Practical Nursing Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction to adult learners in both classroom and clinical settings within the Collins Career Technical Center's Practical Nursing Program. This role ensures alignment with Ohio Board of Nursing and program accreditation standards, promotes safe nursing practice, and fosters student success in preparation for the NCLEX-PN. The instructor must be committed to professional development, collaboration, and maintaining a learning environment that upholds the mission and values of LCJVSD.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
  • 2 years experience
  • Unencumbered Ohio Nursing License or eligible
  • Background check and drug screen
  • Good time management & communication skills
  • Meet all health requirements mandated by law (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
  • A response from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or the Federal Bureau of Investigation was deemed acceptable by the Board.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans in accordance with curriculum guidelines and accreditation standards.
  • Deliver instruction through various modalities including lecture, demonstration, simulation, and clinical experiences.
  • Supervise and evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical settings.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student attendance, performance, and clinical hours.
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty and administration to support curriculum development and program improvement.
  • Provide individualized support and remediation as needed for student success.
  • Maintain clinical competency and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Enforce compliance with all program, state, and federal guidelines including safety and health regulations.
  • Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and advising as required.
  • Attend faculty meetings and contribute to program accreditation and evaluation processes.
