Note: This is a 260-day position.

The Career Navigator helps students find their future path. You will work with the Career Navigation and Work-Based Learning Coordinators to connect students with jobs, trade schools, college, and the military. You will also talk to local businesses and help recruit high school seniors into training programs. This role is perfect for someone who loves helping others succeed and building community partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in secondary education and post-secondary pathways preferred.
  • Experience in workforce development or business/industry preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a license to transport students.
  • Must pass BCI/FBI background checks and meet health requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Career Navigation and Work-Based Learning Coordinators in supporting students' career exploration and work-based learning activities.
  • Help coordinate and support partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, educational agencies, and workforce partners.
  • Assist with organizing career awareness activities, events, and experiences that connect students with career and workforce opportunities.
  • Support communication and outreach efforts with students, families, educators, and community partners.
  • Assist with identifying and supporting work-based learning opportunities such as job shadowing, mentorships, internships, and training experiences.
  • Provide students with general career information, resources, and guidance on postsecondary education, employment, and training pathways.
  • Assist with outreach and collaboration with post-secondary institutions and internal district programs to support recruitment of high school seniors into local post-secondary education and training opportunities.
  • Help maintain records, reports, and communications related to career navigation and work-based learning initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lawrence County JVSD Superintendent or designee.
