Description

The Clinical Medical Assisting Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction to high school students enrolled in the Clinical Medical Assisting program. This role ensures students gain both clinical and administrative competencies, preparing them for certifications like CCMA, CPT, and CPR/First Aid. Aligned with Ohio Career-Technical Education Content Standards, the teacher will manage labs, internships, and clinical experiences while promoting student success.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid or eligible for an Ohio Career-Technical Workforce Development teaching license in Health Science
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Sufficient related work experience per Ohio Department of Education requirements (based on degree held)
  • Ability to meet all health requirements mandated by law (e.g., negative tuberculosis test)
  • Acceptable BCI/FBI background check results as determined by the Board

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
  • CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Experience using medical software and instructional technology
  • Prior instructional experience with high school or career-tech students
