Description

The Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District is seeking a part-time Adult Education Electricity Instructor. This position teaches adult learners in both classroom and hands-on lab settings. The instructor helps students build electrical skills, safe work habits, and job readiness for work in the electrical field. The instructor also helps prepare students for industry-recognized credentials, including NCCER Core, NCCER Level One, and OSHA 10.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required\
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial electrical systems
  • Knowledge of electrical installation, components, troubleshooting, and safe work practices
  • Ability to teach adult learners with different skill and experience levels
  • Holds or is eligible to obtain an Ohio Adult Education permit or appropriate license
  • Ability to prepare students for NCCER Core, NCCER Level One, and OSHA 10
  • Meets all health requirements required by law
  • Successfully passes BCI/FBI background check as required by Board policy

Job Responsibilities

  • Teach adult learners in electrical systems, installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Teach electrical theory, electrical safety, tools, materials, wiring methods, circuits, devices, and electrical components
  • Create lesson plans, lab activities, projects, and assessments aligned to workforce needs
  • Prepare students for NCCER and OSHA 10 credentials
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and performance
  • Maintain accurate Adult Education program records
  • Keep the classroom and lab safe, clean, and organized
  • Model safe work habits and enforce lab safety rules
  • Inspect tools, equipment, supplies, and training materials
  • Support student employability skills, workplace behavior, and job readiness
  • Work with staff, administration, and industry partners to support student success
  • Support program growth, recruitment, retention, and completion efforts
  • Complete required district training in a timely manner
  • Follow district policies, administrative rules, and Board directives
  • Support the mission and goals of LCJVSD
