Description

The Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District is seeking a CDL Instructor to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training for adults preparing to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This is a 260-day contract position and must follow all Ohio Administrative Code requirements, including OAC 4501-7-05 and 4501-7-28. The instructor will deliver structured training in safety, theory, and practical driving while supporting student success and workforce readiness.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach CDL classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel lessons in accordance with state and federal training standards
• Supervise range instruction and ensure compliance with required student-to-instructor and vehicle ratios
• Administer final theory assessments and maintain accurate training records
• Ensure student completion within 270 days of enrollment
• Maintain valid instructor licensing and complete all mandatory training
• Report any license violations or driving incidents within 10 days
• Support student progress and provide feedback throughout the program
• Follow district policies and participate in communications or marketing as needed
