Description

The Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District is seeking an STNA Program Coordinator / Instructor. This person will oversee and teach the district’s State Tested Nurse Aide program.

The coordinator will manage program records, support Ohio Department of Health compliance, coordinate clinical partnerships, and teach student cohorts in classroom, lab, and clinical settings. This position helps prepare students for safe patient care and successful completion of the STNA competency exam.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active, current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio
  • Completion of an Ohio Department of Health approved Train-the-Trainer program, or eligibility and willingness to complete the course prior to the start date
  • At least two years of RN experience, including at least 3,200 verifiable hours
  • At least one year of RN experience in a long-term care facility, such as a skilled nursing facility or nursing home, including at least 1,600 verifiable hours
  • Able to provide written verification of required RN and long-term care hours from previous employers on company letterhead for ODH approval
  • Meets all health requirements mandated by law, including tuberculosis testing when required
  • Successfully passes BCI/FBI background check as required by Board policy

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Ohio Department of Health and NATCEP rules for nurse aide training
  • Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or supervising students or staff
  • Experience working with high school students, adult learners, or career-technical education students
  • Strong organizational skills for managing student files, curriculum records, clinical documents, and program reports
  • Ability to coordinate clinical site requirements, student schedules, and program deadlines

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and teach assigned STNA student cohorts
  • Plan and deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction using approved curriculum and state standards
  • Evaluate student knowledge, skill performance, clinical readiness, and professional behavior
  • Maintain student records, attendance, skill checklists, clinical hours, and program files
  • Ensure compliance with ODH and NATCEP program rules, reporting, and documentation requirements
  • Coordinate clinical sites, clinical agreements, student schedules, and facility communication
  • Prepare students for course completion and the STNA competency exam
  • Provide student coaching, remediation, and support as needed
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment
  • Model safe nursing practice, infection control, patient rights, and professional conduct
  • Communicate with students, families, clinical partners, state agencies, and district staff as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, patient, and program records
  • Complete all required district training in a timely manner
  • Follow district policies, administrative regulations, and Board directives
  • Support the mission and educational goals of LCJVSD
