We are seeking a substitute instructor to support our Auto Mechanics program at Lawrence County JVS. This part-time, as-needed position helps maintain a safe and engaging lab environment when the regular instructor is unavailable. If you're a hands-on professional who enjoys working with high school students and sharing your trade skills, this is a great opportunity to make a difference.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years work experience one of the following fields: Auto Mechanics, Electricity, HVAC, or Welding
• Ability to supervise students in a hands-on lab or shop setting
• Valid Ohio Department of Education license in the career field or ability to obtain one preferred
• Trade certification or journeyman status preferred, but not required
• Meets all health requirements mandated by law (e.g., tuberculosis test)
• Successfully passes BCI/FBI background check as required by Board policy
   

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the Auto Mechanics lab
• Follow lesson plans and safety procedures provided by the full-time instructor
• Monitor tool and equipment use to ensure safety
• Maintain a respectful, orderly shop environment
• Report any issues to the program supervisor or administration
• Complete required district training and follow Board policies
• Support district communication efforts, including classroom photos or student highlights
